Not to mention the stops for a thorough Army drug inspection and one to clear out a landslide. The really scary part was the children with a string across the road hoping to collect a "toll". The would even jump on the running board while moving. A rather trying day.
Hi Mike. We also did that route about 4 or 5 years ago and we had a similar experience. Topes galore. The string kids were stressful. In all of our Mexican travels it was the only stretch we would have called trying. We wouldn't do that route again. Beautiful area though and home to our favourite Mexican city, St Cristobal de las casas.
