Do need to read more threads and I would have gotten the bypass information. This is the only forum we have seen with information of use for Mexican travel. If one posts a question, it is usually answered well.Folks here at Patzcuaro that we have spoken with are taking cuota ( spell check changes cuota to cult if not careful l) or Libre to coast from Uruapan which we shall probably do after two days thereWill leave Guadalajara for another journey. Have been convinced to take 37D to coast from. Uruapan. Probably spend two days in Uruapan.

The new Morelia bypass has been thoroughly discussed on this forum in the last couple of months.

Talleyho69 -, wish we had received your message four days ago. Going through El Centro of Morelia was never racking. It is a beautiful colonial town but not to the driver.

We are at the Villa Patzcuaro RV park and enjoying it. We have both come down with cold and it is a great place to recuperate. So we may be here for six nights. First time we have seen as many US travelers as European.

Everyone here has gone on to Uruapan to see the volcano that formed in 1943. Most of them planned to take 37D to the coast. We are pretty much listening to the other RVers who have a lot of experience in Mexico. We want to be in Puerto Vallerta the first week in Feb (by the fifth) since some of Elaine's relatives who live in Alaska will be down for a week with their Mom (Elaine's first cousin) who will be 85.

Just read the comments about a well liked but run down RV park in Guadalajara.

IF you aren't there already, at the intersection of Hwy 15, turn north for about 8 km, and take the new bypass of Morelia to Patzcuaro. Saves so much wear and tear.

Where do you go after Patzcuaro? There is a little space in Zihuatanejo if you know where to look.
