Camping around Durango

Thinking of the new Cuota next year. Does anyone know of an overnight stop near Durango? Like a large secure Pemex? Zacatecas to Mazatlan looks like an awful long day.
  • I've gotten a good night's sleep at the first Pemex coming in to town from the east on 40. There's a cloverleaf of sorts where 40D splits from 40, it's less than a mile on the right.
  • The entroque with Mex 40 has a 24/7 gasolinera. Don't park in the unlighted area. Get a good night's rest, re-check your tire pressure and leave at dawn. You don't want the sun in your eyes as you descend. Yes and ascending oncoming drivers still pass eight cars at once on blind curves.
