Yeah well, it's a catch-22 as you cannot get a transponder if you live outside the Province of Ontario. I've tried!
IOW any non-resident with a fiver isn't supposed to use that road!
And I agree, on a cost/mile basis it is one expensive toll road!
It's odd that you couldn't get a transponder, even the application describes the "customer address" in Province / State, Postal Code / ZIP Code format and since use of a transponder is mandatory for 5+ ton vehicles I can't believe they'd not allow vehicles from outside Ontario to use a major highway.
