I have been reading these posts and have felt all kinds of emotional reactions within myself. I have been angry, sad, happy, relieved, surprised, shocked. I have laughed and felt like crying.
The thing is we do live in different countries. We eat, speak, spell, respect, drive, police, elect and run our governments very different. All these things are what makes us able to enjoy foods, shopping, vacations etc. If we wanted the same we would stay at home.
It is wrong to judge how others live but we are human. We all, not only Americans and Canadians find fault in other countries and people. We are not perfect.
I travel because of these differences. I want to hear the quirky accents in Canada and the US and the rest of the world. I don't make fun of them but try to understand them. Learn new words, new meaning.
We all have opinions, we don't want to be the same, think the same. We are living in different cultures and a great thing about that is we can have forums like this. We can all learn from each other. None of us are any better than others. We all have something to offer each other, "respect".
