- traveylinExplorerCherries its all about the cherries as long as you have none its okey
- wilber1ExplorerDon't know what the law is and have never been checked at the border, but if you take the test for the over 4600 KG trailer license endorsement in BC and don't check the bottles are turned off during the pre trip, demerits and possibly a fail.
I never tow with them on anyway. Never found the need, the fridge an freezer stay cold longer than I want to tow in a day. - SrFoxmexicoExplorerI spent most of my life living near the border. I have never been asked about propane in either boats or RVs.
But I do agree that everyone should have to turn off the propane to cross the borders in either direction. LOL :) - Community AlumniGot me! :B

I still think that having all rigs from US into Canada turning off their propane is a good idea anyway.

Oh God no, Eric...if I typed what I was thinking, you'd have to send me to the back of RV.
In truth, it was just a Monday morning fishing line...see who bit.

Gary Haupt - jamesuExplorerCanada requires propane be turned off on all ferries. Which is not a requirement in the US.
Incorrect. Propane turned off is a requirement on Washington State Ferries and a bright orange tag is issued for dashboard placement. - RvpapaExplorerReason to close off propane in tunnels and ferries is very simple. Propane is heavier than air and will settle out in the low spots, think bilges and the lowest point of a tunnel. George Black ferry at Dawson is more of a powered barge with the deck closed off from interior spaces. You are usually not allowed to have a propane powered vehicle in an underground parking for the same reason.
Where the op's info came from gives question as to how much to believe these self proclaimed "experts".
