- Community AlumniI just found out to Quebec will allow short stays out of province beyond 6 months. This would be good news for us who enjoy being south in the winter months and still like to enjoy our NY Adirondacks seasonal campsite in the summer months.
- daveB110ExplorerThe most usual case for "dawdling" is only when snowbirds are returning to their northern mating areas. News reports too often paint a grim picture, with snow and ice still in abundance over their lakes - and properties. But before, with autumn looking too much like winter, there was NO dawdling!
"Proposed changes" are one thing, getting longstanding laws and rules changed is another. Regardless, we find that we have enough time to spend away from home, wherever we go. With 7 months away now available to BC'ers (we heard) its very easy to nip into Mexico or fly to Central America or the Carribean to adhere to USA regulations regarding their time limits. - vic46Explorer"And that’s just what the Canada clause in the proposed U.S. immigration law would do: offer two more months to dawdle along the highways leading south."
The above quote from the NP article indicates the legislative change to be relative to U.S. law. The pertinent restriction is the absent time allowed by Canadian Law either federal or provincial, whichever is less. - Community AlumniYeah, we're limited to 6 months here too in Quebec. :(
- netjamExplorerAt least BC health will let you go for 7 months without losing your coverage. As an Albertan, I'll still be limited to 6.
