- Talleyho69ModeratorHow nice to hear how it turned out, and that it sounds like it was easy and inexpensive.
TelCel SIM cards are currently 29p, a great deal. - bighatnohorseExplorer IIVerizon wanted $80. minimum charge. Instead, I bought a SIM card in Panama City for $5.00 The SIM came with 2 gigs and bunches of minutes.
I think it will be more than enough for our stay.
I'll buy another SIM card in Mexico if this one doesn't work there.
There's plenty of internet available at hotels even here in Boquete Panama. - qtla9111NomadTelcel has a promotion running. 100 pesos Canada, U.S. and Mexico. Good for five months. It works great. Buy any phone from an OXXO or 7Eleven.

Put in the countries you will be visiting and the model of phone. - navegatorExplorerATT workes in México with a plan that includes Mexico, USA and Canada that is what we have, although cell service can be spoty in some areas, 800 numbers can not be dialed from Mexico without a fee.
navegator - TrackrigExplorer IIIf you have a Verizon phone already, for only a few dollars more per month (activate as needed) it works in Mexico without a problem. I can't say about Panama. I believe ATT does the same for Mexico.
Bill - Talleyho69ModeratorWe've been communicating with our AC guy who is currently in Panama. He has a TelCel Zihuatanejo number, and it appears to work just fine in both places for texts and What'sApp.
Check the TelMex or TelCel website. It should say. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIIGet a SAT phone. Works anywhere. Pay by the minute. I have one, never not works.
- LwiddisExplorer IIYour US cell carrier doesn’t offer a Mexican/CA option?
