It is about 20 miles longer but about 20 times easier traveling...Get on I 80 in NJ to I 180 west in Milton, PA to 15 N in Williamsport, PA to I 86 in Painted Post, NY to I 390 N in Bath, NY take exit 7 63 N to 20 W to 77 N to I 90 W about 20 miles west of Buffalo and on to Niagara Falls. No Scranton construction....no Binghamton construction and a lot less traffic and no tolls until I 90 outside Buffalo..

Your choices are 86/17 to Binghamton and then up 81 to 90 OR 87 to 90 all the way. I would use 90 all the way due to nonstop and service stations along the way without getting off.
