It can be turned off if necessary.

If there is to much wind they close it to trucks and RVs. We take it often, it's a nice drive.

1 tank no more than a 45 lb cap. two tanks not adding up to 200 ibs. cap. I think I read it right

We have taken it without a problem. We just keep,the propane turned off that day. Its a little unnerving when a tractor trailer passes you coming the other way, but there is room! We have done it three times in the winter and haven't encountered high winds yet. It is expensive, but an easy way for us to go when heading south.

Oops, sorry.....it's another tunnel with oncoming traffic, not the CBBT.

I haul a 36' fifth wheel from the Trenton area to OBX every Thanksgiving. The CBBT is a piece of cake.

The "Eastern Shores" route is the best. I take 295 or the NJTpk over the Delaware Memorial Bridge, pick up I95, get off at Exit 4A to Route 7, which becomes Rt 1S. Follow that to Rt 113. 113 rejoins 13 in Pocomoke City, VA. 13S over the CBBT, then pick up I64S. Take that to Rt 168 (exit 291B). Rt 168 runs right into Rt 158, which takes you over the bridge and into OBX.

The trip from Jackson, NJ should take about 6 hours.
