CO 10 Walsenburg - LaJunta

Copilot is giving me a primary routing through Pueblo I25-US50 (?) and the direct route on CO10 as an alternate. This even though I'm neutral on freeways as a preference. Google does give the direct route but since Copilot is set up for the RV and google assumes a car I wonder.

Is there something I should know about CO10? Viewing it looks like an ok 2 lane with no or very small shoulder - which isn't bad considering its only a 73 mile stretch.

40 ft motorhome towing

Thanks

  • Thanks all, less adventuring into the great unknown with a big rig is good. No worries about dark - it'll all be light when I go.
  • It is one of those back roads that few but locals use, but it is fine for RVs due to that lack of traffic. We have used it while camped at Lathrop State Park to get to a dark area for my wife to take time-exposure star photos. And that road can be really dark!
  • I made that drive many times, no sweat. Not much to look at though.
  • Co.10 Straight, flat nicely paved road. 2 lanes, speed limit if I recall is 70mph. I think we saw 2 ranches when we used it. Easy ride.
