CO Hwy 550 - Montrose to Durango
How is this route? According to the trip planner it looks like all mountain driving to me. Anybody familiar with this route? Would you recommend using it with a 34' travel trailer in tow?

We did it years ago with a popup, towed by an early-model Ford Explorer, and nearly burned the TV brakes out. The section from Ouray to Silverton is the worst. I've seen a lot of posts here that don't recommend it for towing large trailers or for motorhomes with toads.
