Colorado HWY 160 diesel stops

Will be heading from Walsenburg to Durango soon. Pulling a 5th wheel with 2012 F350 Powerstroke SRW 4x4 shortbed. I have not yet installed external fuel tank so I only have the factory tank (26 gal I believe). Is there a station with diesel on 160 in Monte Vista or "preferably" Del Norte I can get in and out without too much problem? I think it wise to top off the tank midway. There is only one Loves country store listed on the truck stop sites and it is a convenience store type stop.

If you can advise I appreciate it.

  • The coop in Monte Vista has good prices and is very RV user friendly. It is on the right early into town, and I believe it is a Phillips 66.
  • There are plenty of stations with diesel all along your route. Alamosa has a bunch of large easy to get in and out of stations...some with free dumps. Monte Vista, Del Norte, and South Fork all have stations. You will not be a pioneer in this regard as others with diesel have gone before you!
  • You are traveling a truck route. There are service stations all along that route and getting diesel will not be a problem anywhere.

  • The Love's in Monte Vista. Take a look at it on Google Maps, street view. Looks like you can get in and out OK. This is not a TRUCK STOP!!!!
