Colorado Springs to Gunnison - how are the passes

That would be Monarch Pass. I'd take CO 115 out of Colorado Springs down to near Canyon City then West on US 50.

I have towed over this route many times: 34' fifth wheel and 2500 Duramax/Allison. I do not consider Monarch difficult at all. In an emergency even towed down to Salida without trailer brakes. No problem. Not that I advise it, but when it happened I had no choice. The point is we made it just fine.

Passing lanes at many convenient places. Just hold your speed going down.
