I live in far east Plano (Murphy) and over Thanksgiving week did my trip to Corpus. Took US75 straight thru downtown Dallas and picked up I35E then on into Waco, Austin, San Antonio and on into Corpus. Did it last Sunday and reversed the route coming back on Thanksgiving Day. A little construction in S Dallas on 35E but other than that it was pretty clear sailing. Oh, there was also construction on i-410 in San Antonio.
