I don't have the reservations in front of me, but I think we arrive on the 9th after two layovers, one in VA, and another in GA on the way to keep the daily drive down to 300ish miles/day. - RichertExplorerGreat CG! We love it there, lots to do right at CG. Take bikes and ride all the trails, go horseback riding, 2 pools, enjoy!!!

- Farm_CampExplorerWe will make our first visit to the Fort in June. It will be our first extended vacation with our TT. A full week at The Fort/Disney and another full week coming and going with a day or three thrown in at Gatlinburg to break up the return trip... I was warned to not camp a Fort Wilderness first because it would spoil you. A friend that has visited twice says all of the glowing things said above and also mentioned "the laundry is cleaner than my house"
It IS pricy. We're going whole hog and renting a cart for the whole time even though we have bicycles just because it's vacation and it may be many years before we can visit again.
I sometimes haunt two other online communities: Google "Fort Fiends", and "Dis Boards". There may be others as well. These two have a whole lot of good information (warts and all) about the Fort and a lot of tips and hints, and even some history of the happiest place on earth.
Happy camping! - joe_b_Explorer IIWDW gives us Florida residents a good deal on annual tickets. We have them and get up to WDW about 8 to 10 times a year to stay at the Fort. Works out to be about 40 to 50 nights a year, most years. We take our 9 and 10 year old grandsons with us most of the time. We were just up there last week for a week. The glowing reports listed above are true, the place is the best run campground where we have ever stayed and the one we judge others by. The sites are cleaned, checked and ready when assigned. The Fort is the only place I know of that vacuums the streets in the early morning, collects trash several times a day, along with recycle. The comfort stations are cleaned several times a day and are checked by management in-between cleanings. We don't pay much more at the Fort than we do when we go to Key West and camp.
We normally have 6 or 8 standing reservations at any one time. I already have two weeks reserved for next Christmas, a week each at Halloween and Thanksgiving, plus some others for family birthdays, etc. Some days when just my wife and I go, we will often not leave the campground to go to any of the parks.
Disney knows how to run a campground, along with a lot of other things found there. LOL On our last visit, they announced that there were 73,000 employees working at WDW that day, accounting for a local payroll of just over $6,000,000 a day. - Gunship_GuyExplorerI know a lot of people complain about the price of Ft Wilderness, but it is probably the best campground in the country. They offer so much for your money.
When I hear the complaints I wonder if folks don't take advantage of all that's available. We have a whole month booked there in the fall. Can't wait. - jfkmkExplorer IINicest campground we've ever stayed in. Clean, friendly staff, everything you would expect from Disney. You pay for it, but it's worth it. When we were there the water park was still open, which was a bonus. I think that may be permanently closed.
- Salty_DogExplorerIt is a first class campground! Grounds crew rakes and cleans each site when it is vacated before the next guest arrives. The transportation system makes getting around the vast Disney complex easy. We have been three times and will likely visit again. Lots to see and do - to much for a short stay (and too expensive for a long stay!) Good luck getting reservations unless you are making them for a long ways off. If during a peak season...
- 3LittleDucksExplorerI really wish Disneyland had something similar! Sounds like a great place!
- Two_HandsExplorerIt is the best rv campground we have ever been in. It is definitely the place to camp when you visit Disney World, but it is very expensive. We would only stay there while visiting Disney World then move to a regular (spelled less expensive) campground for the rest of the trip.
