Do Not Use U P S to ship to Canada.

I recently had to order a product from the USA to Repair a problem with My Rig!

The supplier ,through. No fault of their own used U.P.S. To ship this item!

The Delivery across the States from Minn to Washington was quick and accurate!

That where the whole thing fell apart! For some reason(. profit ) UPS uses a certain brokerage firm to facilitate the delivery of the Package from the US into Canada.

These Crooks managed to totally screw up the address that the Shipper carefully used!

Then They added a Totally Bogus Fee to process the Paperwork, supposedly collected the GST for the The Goods which probably never reached the Proper authorities ,then added Provincial Sales Tax ,which also likely never made it to the proper authorities! All these Taxes were applied to the delivered price of the goods!

I suspect that United Parcel Service is a totally Corrupt and worthless entity that takes advantage of the System in order to extort these spurious fees !

If You are a Canadian ordering anything from the USA Do Not Allow UPS to be the Shipper! instead specify that the Shipper use USPS or any other Carrier!

all shipments into Canada are subject to federal GST. Provincial sales taxes may also apply. It is not a sellers duty to inform a buyer from point of sale of taxes, shipping costs. At time of sale, cost of goods is protected, shipping and taxes projected.

    True.

So they would ship to our dock in White Rock (near Bellingham) and pick up their shipment and tear off the packaging and tell the border folks they owned it for years, we don't owe any tax. We got to the point we had to collect a "disposable fee" because we had so much trash packaging. Or maybe something had to be declared if the value was over lets say $5,000 so they would send in 2 different packages with price know being $2,500 versus $5,000. This went on day after day, year after year.

But the drug guys are real good. We would fax our freight bills to them every pick up and they would run the dogs by if anything looked fishy. I don't know how they knew but they did a good job.

  • It's a little tricky for you but I ship to Sumas Washington and cross to pick my stuff up. UPS is great for USA as many places offer free ground shipping but its really pricey when it comes to shipping into Canada (as I have learned the hard way too).
