  • We are RVers so the answer is No We don't! That said there are a couple of RV Parks that actually offer House keepers who will come in and clean on a weekly basis!

We might consider this when We reach the stage that It is too hard to keep things up Ourselves!

As in all things ,where there are strangers on board We would be concerned about Valuables being absconded !
  • We live here full time and have cameras that record with DVR and we have live access and 14 day rewind via internet. It has been very useful on our trips. Last summer on our four month trip to Canada we were able to pay the gardener online to his bank account, call or send text messages to do certain work or check on things that looked out of whack.

We use cameras also with our rental in San Antonio, outdoor only.

My point is that with cameras, it is less likely that theft or problems would arise.

It sounds like an interesting service.

Housekeeping in your absence? Like dusting an empty house once a week :)? I would understand "gardening", though here in Baja there usually isn't much of a garden.
What is needed, is a "house-seater" - somebody living there or at least spending the nights. To prevent theft, mostly, and to take care of (infrequent) damage from flood or heavy rain.

Don't count on them doing it well though. This is Mexico. To get done anything complicated or important, you have to be there, watch them, and explain many times - and even then it won't come out perfect.
  • We havea friend who stays in the house on weekends and also keeps the place looking occupied. An empty house in Mexico is a magnet for thieves. Hiring anyone who is not local is just plain dumb! Almot: Mexico is windy and the land of dirt. An empty house near the beach that is not cleaned will have inches of sand and dirt. Mexican windows are not the same as anything made in the USA!
