Check festivals. Each province has them. ie. StanFest in NS, Festival of Small Halls in PEI, check East Coast Music Association awards 2017 for suggestions of groups. Lots of good ones around Atlantic Canada. & don't cry too hard if some are out of this area in summer. For example, 10 Strings and a Goatskin, could not be in Canada to accept their ECMA award this year because the King of Sweden had them booked for those dates.
