driving from BUffalo, NY to SW Minnesota

Hello,We will be driving to SW Minnesota from the Buffalo, NY area in 2 weeks.  We wondering if anyone had a favorite route that avoids the congestion of places like Chicago.  Thank you!!

There is no good way around Chicago. 80 is as good as it gets (which is still awful compared to a catastrophe).

Yep take 80 all the way to I39 north toward Rockford
