Not a fan of campgrounds either. In 13 years here in Québec I have taken maybe 5-6.
Here's a trick....Supossing that you are eating supper at a restaurant and upon leaving you tell the manager that you had a few drinks and that you don't feel apt to drive and ask if you can sleep in the parking lot. Believe me it works!
