- navegatorExplorerWe bought the stove and the dryer in San Diego, they were installed in San Diego for natural gas and then shiped to Mexico, we have propane now and I managed to purchase the jets for the dryer and stove, the stove jets I found in Mexico, Bosch stove and the jet for the dryer came from the USA from the manufacturer.
If the jet that you are contemplating on modifying, you need to veryfy that it is bronze, that can be hammered with a ball peen hammer to close the orifice and then redrill to the correct size, I do not know what that drill size is going to be since you need to know what the burner requiers, other option is to close the hole by using an oxyacetilane torch and some bronze wire.
You might contact the manufacturer and see if they can either provide you with a correct jet for make, model and serial number, or the correct number drill for the jet you are going to modify.
navegator - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerCheck shipping cost from say Mexico to Sonora. To me, the TOTAL cost is the price that matters. Can I ship from Tijuana to Lazaro Cardenas direct? No. Transfer occurs in Morelia.
PRICES STARTING AT...
Mexicans are not dummies. They have learned every trick in the book. The three for two specials in Soriana for soda end up saving seventeen cents each on a dollars and a half bottle of soda, not thirty three percent.
The front load washer and dryer I purchased are stainless steel exterior and tub. COMMERCIAL duty GE motors. I have to re-connect both for 127 volt service and re-jet the dryer for LPG and not natural gas. Mexico City and probably Monterrey have natural gas available. Do you know how to tamp closed a gas orifice than use a finger drill to custom fit an orifice to altitude? - moishehExplorerWow!! Those look like nice laundry machines. Here in Sonora there are vendors who go to Tucson every week with a pickup and trailer. They go to garage sales on Sundays and buy the leftovers. Some appliance stores sell them the non saleable appliances. All of the above is taken to small shops in Calle doce ( Miguel Aleman) But the appliances are older. Sometimes Green and Harvest Gold!
Moisheh - qtla9111NomadUsed commercial washing machines and dryers in Mexico from 7700 pesos.
Exelentes Lavadoras Y Secadoras Seminuevas Para Lavanderias - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerOK I'll bite. I need a new boiler for the lavadora :)
- navegatorExplorerThere is a store in San Diego that sells brand new appliances that have minor damage to the exterior and can not be sold at the retail stores, the price on theese are 60 to 70% less than the good looking unit, we purchased a dish washer, clothes washer abnd a clothes dryer that had scratches or bumps to the out side sheet metal, brand new otherwise and are warranted new, worth looking into.
navegator - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI am planning to have a container shipped to Morelia then forwarded to Lazaro Cardenas. I need to use a broker. Some items have facturas. My toad is generally treated as being OBSOLETE and car parts are not available for it not even from Autozone Mexico. The container has a commercial gas fired clothes dryer ($128.00) A commercial side load washing machine $250, loads of canned sugar and salt free foodstuffs, and other items that are not available at all anywhere near where I live and are not available on amazon.mx.
I have found stevia sugar free goodies.
My landlady at my hideout bungalow has a daughter working in the Recinto Puerto (shipping port) Aduana. Unlike some customs officials she is honest and does not play games with estimated value of duty. She is taxing my used appliances at 16%. They are somewhat sad looking and she valued them at receipt value. Find used laundromat appliances in Mexico? Ha ha funny person... - Talleyho69ModeratorIt sounds like you have the perfect set up.
We, however, live in Mexico. There are a few, very few items that we have found so far that we really want from the north.
Those however are almost all available in Mexico, but a premium must be paid.
Considering the cost of living here, it all works out!
Please do remind me of this statement in a few months!!!!! - moishehExplorerWe have a mailbox in Tucson and use it all the time. In Canada we are only 65 miles to the US border and there are entrepreneurs in N.D. that receive parcels. Normal cost is $2.00 to $5.00 per parcel but I use Amazon prime and the freight is free.. I drive down and often the boys at Canada Customs do not charge any duty! I am going to try Mercado Libre for some diesel oil.
Moisheh - Talleyho69ModeratorWe love Mercado Libre, just sold our trailer on it, and have made several purchases that we are very pleased with.
Open minds find great options to get what they want wherever they are!
