We have run into many people in Mexico who have had to disconnect circuit protection devices because they are just too sensitive and refuse to pass current most of the time. We have never used one and have overnighted in RV parks in every state of Mexico without a problem. I remember to use my multimeter or simpler plug in device sometimes but not always.
We too have ran into the same. Stayed at one of the better parks in Kino near a high end coach that could not keep the power connected. We had no problem but had no power protection. This has been the primary reason we have not coughed up the dollars for a power protection device. We have considered going the solar route and not connecting at all as you can't use your AC in most the RV parks in Mexico anyway! So wouldn't the dollars be better spent on solar than on power protection?
