From Florida to Cali June 1st!

I sorta have a set route to Cali as some of this trip is work related. Return route is wide open.

One more thought about June in California -- the snowfall this year was record-breaking. Many high altitude boondocking areas will just be melting out in mid-June and will be muddy.

Also, how many days can you spend on this trip? A "sampler" itinerary will be different from one where you can spend a week at a time at each location.

What activities do you like -- hiking? Mountain biking? And are you ok leaving the dog in the RV during the day? In many areas, dogs are not permitted on the trails. Not true everywhere, but in some places it is.

If going Interstate 10, loop around San Antonio (TX 1604 or even SH 46) and El Paso (TX 375). Houston is kind of hard to loop around since the loops also carry a lot of traffic or are toll roads, but you might choose to route yourself to an overnight or longer stay well north of Houston. You will avoid some stress that way. Return to I-10 west of Houston unless you are really interested in seeing Austin. It is worth seeing, but the traffic can be something else. The hill country west of I-35 deserves its own trip.

Should try Quartzsite, Az. for boondocking. Loved Shady Acres Campground-Mobile, Ala.-Cajun Palms, Henderson, La.(had seafood restaurant delivery to campground), Mustang Hollow Campground, Mathis, Tx.(we had a site overlooking Lake Corpus Christi) and they make home made pizza in their office. Pontchartrain Landing Campground, New Orleans, La. These campgrounds we liked so much we stayed a couple nights extra.
Forgot to mention Williams, Az. off Rt. 66/40-old time mining town which also has a train-Grand Canyon Railway-does a round trip to the Grand Canyon in older style train. There are 3 campgrounds in area.

Our main areas will be Arizona and California.

North Rim - Lake Powell - Pacific Ocean - Colorado - Keep elevations in mind so the Boondocking is easier ;)
