From Glenwood Springs to Gunnison, CO

Hi all: We will be staying in Glenwood Springs, CO. Was thinking of visiting Gunnison from here and the internet takes me from Rte 70 all the way around to 50. My physical map shows a route 133 thru Redstone and then 92 and appears much more direct. Are these valid routes to drive without the rv?

    We did that trip in the opposite direction last year.

    At the south end of CO 92 it is kind of slow going with sharp curves on a skinny road, but it was a nice drive. The rest of it is fairly easy. Co 133 is nice following the rivers.

    Yes, that's a viable route. My parents' ranch was located near Paonia, so we often traveled via 133 over to Glenwood to soak in the waters or via 92 over the Black Mesa to Blue Mesa/Gunnison. Of course, a great deal of it is mountain driving, but it's still a whole bunch shorter than going the long route around.
