As long as your not subject to motion sickness you should be fine. Most of the road, while goingmover several passes is still in the coast range, so roads might be wet, but snow? Probably not.

Check the Calif. DOT application and CARR application for road contains and weather. Check the Weather Channel 3 days before you start. IMHO, I always carry chains and other equiptment that I might need for potential winter conditions even when I not towing my RV. Calif. has enforced laws requiring you to chain up if road conditions require it any where north of Redding. No chains! No go!

Rav4 should not have a problem....
