Garmin 2757

There's a review on Amazon about a dead battery.

Have you tried holding the power button down for at least 10 seconds to reset the unit?
Not sure on your model if it came with a little plastic tang that needs to be pulled out to connect the battery to the unit. I didn't see anything about it in the online manual.

X2 little plastic disk so battery doesn't get used up before customer buys.

We have one and when fuse had to be replaced we couldn't find at auto part store but found one at hardware store. We now carry a spare .

I have a 2757 and no problems. No battery tang thingy I can recall. I think if it is plugged into computer or vehicle the battery doesn't matter but not sure. Did you download the owner's manual from Garmin Online? I read mine and cannot find reference to your problem. No reference in troubleshooting. Maybe a bad unit. Contact them Monday. Chances are they will ship a replacement. You can probably talk them into FedEX. Or have them send to a stop on your route. Or the tech will know the solution and you will be good to go. Ours works great.

can anyone comment on the garmin 2699, does maps of N.America mean mexico is included??

From Garmin's site: "Includes US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, French Guiana, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Bahamas, Saint Barthelemy, Guadeloupe, and Martinique."
