- PA12DRVRExplorerHeard from friends out in the wild that the aurora was relatively active over the past weekend, but in the area I was at, the cloud cover effectively blocked it. :(
- CroweExplorerLast night we decided it's time to do a vaca in a month where we can see the aurora in Alaska, Iceland or Norway. If things had gone as planned this year we would have been in Fairbanks in September and would have at least had a chance to see them.
- PA12DRVRExplorerClearing and cooling as we type...maybe clear enough tonight to catch a view.

- PA12DRVRExplorerWell, we're going to live around Los Anchorage and a good part of SC Alaska....the beneficent fog and low lying clouds kept the evil geostorm death rays from reaching the atmosphere.
...and blocked available aurora as well. :( phillyg wrote:

Oh great, thanks for the warning. Gonna cover my house with tinfoil now!- phillygExplorer IIWait, what? I read a novel about geostorms. We all died!
- CroweExplorerNot happening as they originally thought. Seems they may have been mistaken:
https://boston.cbslocal.com/2020/12/10/northern-lights-new-england-aurora-borealis/ - I am within the viewing zone, but the massive Calgary city lights glow drown out the night sky unless I drive 50 miles out into the boonies somewhere.
Thanks for sharing. - ssthrdExplorerhttps://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/news/article/auroras-expected-wednesday-thursday-after-solar-flare-and-coronal-mass-ejection
