We went to the GMC Dealership in Chetumal, Quintana Roo a few years back and they contacted the warranty program administrator in the US, got authorization and did the work under warranty,with us having to pay just the deductible.
The dealership had an Spanish-English speaking representative who took charge of the task and provided us with a free rental as our house is in Xcalak, about 120 miles away.
On the way back we had to have further work done at a GMC dealership in Las Vegas and they gave the thumbs up on the work done in Mexico.
