Had to go out to the motorhome to get my notes. As of last fall the pavement ended at Gonzaga.(There may be a little more paved by now on the flat.) From Gonzaga it is 24 miles to Coco's Corner, The first few miles is flat & washboard then into the mountians with steep, rocky up and down. Flattens out again for a while before Coco's.
From Coco's to Chapala ( paved hiway 1 ) it is 14 miles. More up & down, rough, rocky till about 2 miles before pavement.
Big trucks do it. Last year we met some hauling some oversized tanks. They said it was better than dealing with all the rules etc going through Ensenada.
I would not do it with a motorhome or travel trailer. Too hard on suspension and no place for repairs.
