We just came through the North Cascades westbound from Okanagan, B.C. We went through the border from Canada to USA. We headed south on 97 and proceeded west to Winthrop. After that we took HWY 20 westward, staying in Marblemount.
HWY 20 has some good climbs and downhill grades. So long as you have a good engine brake I don't think you'll have any issues. The views are spectacular. Don't let the sharper turns scare you. I did them in my dually and 34 ft fiver. No issues at all.
