Electric Tea Kettle?

I use an Oster SST kettle, 1500 Watts 120v. Most newer small appliances are rated at 1500 watts or less so they work on a 15 amp circuit.

I agree with the size issue, so we use a small Keurig B31 for both very hot water drinks. Just need to rinse out the K-cup holder inside after each use(I'm a tea drinker and don't want the coffee oils in my tea.)

It also allows a variety of hot drinks from Tea to cider.

We found one at locally owned everything store that makes boiling water in about 2 min., 4 regular cups or three large mugs. It's not too big, doesn't blow breakers, and wasn't expensive, maybe $20. Have purchased a second one for back up when, not if, this one dies, and since anything that works really well seems to not be available in short order, it seemed prudent.

Right now I have a Krup that my daughter got us for Christmas and really love it. I just ordered a melitta that says it is a 1500w to use in the camper. Hopefully we will not have any problems with it. I only plan to use it when have shore power. And yes the water needs to be bowling to make tea. I also use the melitta one cup cone to make coffee. Appreciate everyones input on my question.

My kettle is 1000 watts. I run kettle and pancake griddle together on the kitchen circuit, which is on a 20-amp breaker.

I would think so. I'm a coffee man, and I like it real hot. I can always count on Starbucks to give it to me that way.

My mid 80's vintage Russel-Hobbs is going strong at 1500W at 120V, used multi times each day. I would love to have a similar unit in my TC, but it is too big, would be in the way...I can boil water for tea and make the tea in the same little SS pot I have had since the 70's when I live in the UK. To make tea properly it needs to be boiling not hot like in US resturants. RIGHT?!, Steve

I googled up UK wattages, and everything looked pretty much the same as ours except for "kettle" which was what that poster said. I guess when the Brits want their tea it better be quick!
