- traindriver1ExplorerAbout as good as it gets. Mostly 2 lane, good road, no big cities to go through {Austin-san Antonio-Houston, etc}. Lots of little towns to go thru, so don't get in a hurry. No trouble finding fuel, good places to eat.
- ronfishermanModeratorGood roads to travel. Lots of RVers use this route. RV parks are not hard to find.
- LynnandCarolExplorerGreat road! Great small towns and scenic. Numerous small RV parks along the way. We use this route often when traveling to Rockport, TX.
- stillwanderingExplorerThanks for the info everyone it looked like it was just a two lane rd. but we are in no hurry. We will be checking out around corpus christi and the valley to see if we may like to become winter texans. Looking forward to seeing texas.
- mlts22ExplorerCorpus Christi isn't really a RV friendly area in general. I'd also look at other places as well, perhaps around Fredricksberg or San Antonio.
- Showme_5vrExplorerJust traveled that road before and after Thanksgiving. Like everyone else said it is a good 2 lane road, in some areas when going up a hill they will add a passing lane. Just south of La Grange there is a steep hill (going up when southbound) and the road gets really curvy. There is a detour around that is recommended for 18 wheelers and RV's, you might consider taking it. If you don't take the detour pay attention to the recommended speed signs for the curves.
