Even though both rigs had the same number of axles (8) the other couple was charged almost twice as much as we were, and never the same amount, at each toll booth. When asked why the discrepancy none of the toll booth operators could give a straight answer. This happened in all of the states that we crossed that had toll roads. And, what are they doing with all of the tolls that are collected? I thought the highways in CA were bad, but the PA Turnpike was by far worse.
