It may be more expensive than it was, but the US dollar buys a lot. As a Canadian spending Canadian dollars I'm better off here than in the USA where the Canadian dollar is about 75¢ US. looking the other way, If I put $10.00 on my card $1.37 comes out of my bank account. The only savings is perhaps fuel.
In Mexico the peso is pretty close to what it has been over the past few years at just over 12 pesos to the Canadian dollar. It's almost 17 to the greenback. And here fuel is expensive, diesel @ 14.02 pesos per liter.
Tolls also are very high here. I think we paid about 4,000 pesos between Laredo and Zihuatanejo.
