We are humoring the thought of heading South for Christmas.. Both still working but with a few days off can equal two weeks during the holidays. Have pets so were thinking of taking the 5th wheel for a long ride...
Seeing as how we are in Winnipeg, MB - How far South would you have to go to be able to camp for a couple of weeks around Christmas??
Boy, would it be nice to get 'stuck' in AZ until spring. LOL Sorry boss:)
I also love planning. In fact, I do more "planning" than I do "doing," but hope to change that once I actually retire. In the meantime, below is a map I've done showing average January low temperatures in various areas across the U.S. December would likely be a little warmer, but pick a temperature that you find tolerable for camping, and you'll have a starting idea of where the candidate locations are.
FWIW, the DW tells me that, for heading south for the winter, green is best, yellow is possible, red is out, and black means I should let her know how my new wife likes the RV.
