In an RV I guess the north portion is better but I prefer the section between Carmel and San Luis Obispo for scenery.
I have driven north portion in a car and south in a car and on a motorcycle. I would not do either with my 5er. Not that I think it is difficult but it is more relaxing without the RV and the scenery is why you are driving that route. If you cannot stop and see the view you might as well use I-5.
Besides not finding easy pullouts for an RV if you do want to stop, you will have people riding your rear and passing at every opportunity, safe or not. I know a lot of people drive it in RV's but it is a hassle in my view and much more enjoyable in a convertible or motorcycle.
