- reubenrayExplorerOn the way back South I pulled into the Chevron station right beside Walmart. It was very RV friendly and I pulled into the Walmart to circle back to a red light. The cost was 4 cents more than the Walmart cost, but well worth it. All of the pumps at Walmart was occupied.

Are there any RV friendly gas stations in DeRidder or Leesville?
If you need gas I would recommend DeRidder, gas is about 0.25 cents cheaper per gal. in DeRidder. If coming from the South there is a Brookshire Market on the left as you enter DeRidder. Also on the other end of DeRidder (North) Wal-mart has a gas station, all RV friendly.
Leesville has one station, Jack's all ya need, on the North end of town about 1/2 mile from the under pass on the Left side of the road. The rest are not RV friendly. - joloooteExplorerIf U'r gonna RV camp on the lake, the nicest CG is Sabine River Authority Campground called Pleasure Point. Its at the south end of the lake in La. just north of the dam. There is also a State park CG near there, but not as nice sites.

- 2BNOT2BExplorerHi Raymond,
171 from Lake Charles to Leesville and north is all four lane and in good condition. The section from LA - 10 into Leesville (both north and south)has just recently been resurfaced, as a matter of fact they are just finishing up on the landscaping of the median. If you are planning to use the road in the next few weeks be careful it is still considered a construction zone and the speed limit it 45 mph from LA - 10 to Leesville and they do patrol it. 171 through Leesville is a little bumpy but the speed limit is 35. In my opinion it is not that bad.
The under pass at the north end of town is in fact 13'6". A sign prior to reaching the under pass will direct all trucks to use the left lane. I have no problem with my M/H.
If you need more info let me know, Bill. - Kit_CarsonExplorerThat route is a good road....the roughest part is going thru Leesville. Very rough in town. I have never encountered a problem going this route. Good luck and happy travels.
