Hwy 178 from Anderson to Orangeburg, SC

Anyone ever driven this route by RV?? Is it two-lane all the way... any 4-lane sections? Is it a "terribly" slow route, thru lots of small towns, etc.? Thinking of going this route instead of I-26, which is nothing but another boring interstate.
