Here’s an early alert for motorists who plan to use the North Cascades Scenic Highway (state Highway 20) this month: The highway will be closed to through traffic from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
WSDOT said in a press release that a 10-mile section of the highway between mileposts 147-157 (essentially from Granite Creek to Rainy Pass) will be closed to all traffic, with no detours, so maintenance crews can replace culverts damaged in slides.
