How is hwy 287 between Ennis and hwy 20.A lot of small town with red light or is a strait hwy with no stop

Ennis to Ft Worth is OK.
Then it'll take you near downtown. Not a big deal if it is not rush hour. Just have to watch the signs closely as you'll merge with I35 for a while, then split off north of Loop 820.
The reset of the way north is our preferred route also.
