- obgrahamExplorerAgree with above. In the little town of Grass Valley there is a "city park" in the center which we use to stop and have our lunch. Handy and quiet.

Just made this trip last week moving to Idaho.... And in August and September.
Have never stopped in Shamiko, or any of the other little stops.
Maybe 1/3 of the way to Biggs Junction from the Rest Stop is a pullover that is a mountain identifier. On a clear day a worthy stop. - pauljExplorer IIThousands of RVs, many first time renters, would have climbed that route to get to Madras for the eclipse viewing.
