I-65 thru Louisville, Ky. ???

I live in Shepherdsville about 20 miles south of Louisville, between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm is usually ok , unless there is a wreck. The bypass around Louisville is probably worse now with road construction

Unless you hit commuting times, you should be fine. I drove 65 through Louisville most every day , often at rush hour, for several years when I was in college. As long as nothing happens to snarl a bridge it’s not crazy.

Louisville now has 2 bridges both 6 lanes each so no longer the traffic problems of years past.
However both bridges are now toll bridges. You don't stop to pay the tolls, if you have the transponder the toll is $2.05 for a passenger car, prepay account no transponder $3.08 and pay by mail is $4.10
most rv's are $5.13 with transponder, $6.15 prepay and $7.19 pay by mail.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of shape is I-65 in Indiana? The last time I went through there it needed some work.

I-65 from Elizabethtown to I-265 is rough. Not axle-cracking rough, but still rough. I-265 is much better.

As of two weeks ago I-265 east around the Louisville area mid-day was light traffic, no issues. It's pretty far around but I was going to Charlestown anyway. There were a couple of small construction areas on westbound/southbound I-265.

How about 264 east bound to I-71?

if you are taking I-71 toward cincy just go straight thru downtown to i- 71, shorter and no problem as long as it is not rush hour.

Banging along I-65 between I-265 and Elizabethtown today caused four unpowered AC circuit breakers to switch off (downward) and broke a metal support strap for the transmission hoses. It was a bit rough. And that wasn't in a construction zone.

wow, you must have been flying.i run that stretch of road a lot in my rv. for sure it is not the best road in the country but i have never broke anything yet.
