Native Cincinnatian here. We have three major interstates (I-71, I-75 and I-74) feeding traffic into/through town. The trucks normally go straight through on I-75, either because its shorter or they have deliveries in town. I'd take I-275E around Cincinnati and pick it up again north of downtown. East is shorter than West.
BTW, Cincinnati expressways are always under construction/repair. Grin and bear it. At least 3PM is better than 5 PM. I'm pretty sure nobody actually lives in Cincinnati. We all live in the suburbs, outside the I-275 loop.
OTOH, if you stay on I-75 you'll be able to see the Ohio River through the holes in the deck of the Brent Spence Bridge. Say that three times fast without spraining your tongue. :)
