We'll be going down through there in November as well with our 5th wheel. We planned on leaving Western NY around mid November to avoid just the type of weather you're concerned with. This year was an anomaly with the early snow storm but usually things don't get dicey until the end of November. Give yourself some flexibility on the departure date and you shouldn't have any issues.
