Most roads in/around the area are prone to ice and snow IF A STORM IS COMING THROUGH. Get off the highway and don't travel during the storm. Give VDOT and WVDOT time to work the roads and get the snow off of them (a few hours past the storm) and you should be ready to go.
Interstate highways carry most of our goods on trucks and we don't want to slow down commerce, so they work those roads quickly and well. They CAN'T keep the snow off of them while it's snowing, so take that into consideration.
