Actually it is 182 days within any one calendar year. The OP has indicated they will be back inside Canada with the 7 month timeframe.
We do exactly the same thing, we stay in the US about 177 days per year over a 9 month period.
Sorry, where I come from 7 months is about 7x30 or 210 days. Hoe do you figure 182 days is a 7 month time frame????

The 182 days is what the US Border & Protection Services have published as the permissible time in the US without a visa.
