Interesting weather fact.

We're visiting family in Ontario, and like the rest of the continental NE, the weather is unseasonably warm. This morning at 730am, the temp was 15C. I just happened to click on Mazatlan's figure, and it was 13C!
Yes that was at the airport, which is often a little cooler, but even Playa Escondido was 15C.
For those of you that are metrically challenged, those figures are 55F and 58F.:)

  • But I have to close this by saying: The Chinese are spewing out FIFTY TIMES as much carbon dioxide as the US because they are powering China with high sulfur coal. This is stupid. 90% of American crops rely on rainfall not irrigation. If weather patterns shift we are screwed. Instead of digging a massive canal from Canada's and the USA northwest, capitol hill is buzzwording carbon credits and yet more idiotic government control that enriches government and nobody and nothing else. Kumbayah!
  • Where I live (Maine) there once was ice one and one half miles deep covering the land.

Maybe just maybe you were not alive in 1955. The warmth then knocks the socks off this warm spell. Oooooooo Canada was a tropical swamp in prehistoric times. That was before of course, thick glaciers covered much of the land. The earth has warmed and cooled thousands of times, and just because "we're here" doesn't impress mother nature. I have seen El Nino's of 1950-51, 1956-57, 1968, 1983, 1997, and the present one. Some folks especially young ones, are entranced by "Weather Porn" (Google It). Bet ya you didn't know the thermal output of the sun varies several percent and it's not predictable. And Lucy with her absurd campfires caused CO2 levels to be several times higher than what they are now.

The Polar Bear is a LAND ANIMAL forced to live on the ice when there is no other option. In winter land prey disappears. The bears go seal hunting on ice.

The skewing of reality by the present generation is disheartening. Enjoy both warm and cold Christmas's. Variety is the spice of life.
    Bingo! Merry Christmas

    Merry Christmas!

But because of the time difference it was very early in Mazatlan and that makes a big difference either 4:30 or 5:30 in the morning.

I did think of that, but realised that it was just before dawn here, which is normally the coldest part of the day, and COLDER than at 4or 5:30 which is what it was in Maz!
Of course it's a LOT warmer in Maz than it is here now!
