This is the route to take adding on to the 101 and depending where you want to go in Mesa, you could also get on 202 to avoid some of the Hwy 60 traffic.

On 93 people will stop at Nothing, AZ

Passing thru Kingman on our way to I-40 (wanted to see the Meteor Crater), as we approached the Grand Canyon area, got caught in a blizzard. Went on until we came to (if I recall correctly) I-17 that took us right south to Phoenix (I-10) then east to Mesa. Blizzard to 73 degrees in bright sunshine in just an hour or two. Still haven't seen the Meteor Crater.

I'd do 93 to 74 to 17 to 101. I did the southern route according to GPS and it sucked the first time I did it.. The northern route was much better the second time I did the same trip a couple of years later.. Just my experience in doing it a couple of times. Doing either in a MH would be no problem.. The southern route takes you thru too many towns and stop light after stop light after stop light...
