KOA app for android

I just downloaded the app and I was wondering if anyone else has any real life experiences using it. It looks really handy for the quick overnight stays . I'm thinking I might be using the app a lot on a upcoming trip

  • I carry the KOA book with me and the Good Sam book and use google to search individual towns for other options. Have stayed in KOA's from coast to coast including the original one in Billings. My experience has been that most are pretty good, some are great and some marginal. But overall they are pretty good. The absolute nicest RV parks are the Type A only, late model only, adults only resort parks. Pricey but really nice.
  • I have the KOA app (IOS version) and find it really handy. Also, you can download their directory to your phone. That was quite helpful passing through areas without coverage as we planned our route on the go based on how far we felt like traveling. Once I had solid cell coverage, I deleted data and went back to online lookup to save space but handy when you need it.

And ditto on Good Sam. I use both.
  • I have the KOA, Good Sam, RVParky, and Passport America apps on my phone. All of them have been handy at one time or another for finding accomodations.
  • I have used my KOA app quite a bit,it's user friendly and easy to navigate. Also the RV Parky app it also shows the KOAs along with campgrounds, truck stops and Wally Worlds. So between the 2 I am covered.
  • X2 on KOA's. The app would be nice. They have a real comprehensive website for ALL their CG's anywhere and good at a glance direction maps for each one. I suppose the app will be the same as the website. I also have their book of all the KOA's in the USA and Canada.

Been full timing for awhile now and got tired of pulling into a local CG for the night while on the road and finding it to be less than desirable.

I now pretty much only stay at KOA's the franchise try's to keep all the CG's looking the same. And to keep the KOA name they all pretty much keep them nice and clean and up to KOA's specs. Dog friendly which is one of my requirements. No more surprise's, as you can tell a KOA fan here!:C
  • Don't have any experience using the KOA app and have only stayed at a couple of KOAs over the last decade, but I found RvParky app for Android to be extremely useful in finding RV friendly locations be it public or private parks, retail stores, truck/rest stops etc. within a given area. Have nothing against KOAs, I just like to know about all the choices available for RVers specific to a location or roadway we are traveling.
  • My wife has it on her phone and it comes in VERY handy. We use it all the time.

Another app you may want to get is the Good Sam app also. It brings up all the Good Sam campgrounds all across the US. We have found that KOA and Good Sam campgrounds are very much alike, both clean, well taken care of and kid friendly. Except Good Sam are usually NOT right along an interstate and are much more private.
